NHL Game Summary - Nashville at Chicago

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Alex Zhamnov finished with a goal and an assist to help Chicago earn a 5-2 win over Nashville at the United Center.

Bryan Berard and Steve Sullivan each contributed a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, who have won two straight and three of their last four. Zhamnov posted his fourth multi-point game of the season, while Craig Anderson registered 25 saves.

"We're scoing goals," Sullivan said. "But still allowing a lot."

Denis Arkhipov and Adam Hall scored for the Predators, who suffered their third straight loss.

Mark Bell and Ryan VandenBussche also scored for Chicago, which notched five straight goals to erase a 1-0 deficit.

Bell and Berard both beat Tomas Vokoun in the final five minutes of the first period. Bell converted on a slap shot from the left point with 4:06 to go, then Berard delivered his ninth with 1:08 left on a power play.

In the second period, Zhamnov triggered a trio of goals for the Blackhawks. He scored just 1:03 into the second on a slap shot in the slot.

Sullivan added his 15th goal of the season 4:49 later on a wrist shot from the center point. VandenBussche scored his second of the season while falling in the slot, as he tipped in a pass from behind the net.

Vokoun was relieved midway through the second period after stopping 13-of-18 shots. His replacement, Chris Mason, finished with 14 saves.

"It was a bad game by me and a lot of guys," Vokoun said. "We need to get back to the way we cam play."

Hall beat Anderson on the power play at 4:39 of the third period to pull Nashville within 5-2. Still, Anderson turned away 14 other shots in the third.

Arkhipov put the Predators ahead 1-0 at 4:07 of the first period. He scored on a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle.

Game Notes

Kyle Calder added two assists for the Blackhawks, who kicked off a five-game homestand...Chicago has won five straight at home in the series and improved to 6-1-1 in the last eight against the Predators...Before the game Blackhawks coach Brian Sutter received the NHL Milestone Award to commemorate his 1,000th coached game...Sullivan has five goals in his last four games.
