NHL Game Summary - Carolina at Anaheim

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Vitaly Vishnevski scored midway through the second period to tie the game and Samuel Pahlsson delivered the game-winner late in the third period to lift Anaheim to a 3-2 win over Carolina at the Pond.
Martin Gerber made 22 saves and Vaclav Prospal also scored for the Mighty Ducks, who snapped a two-game losing streak and earned their fourth straight win in the series. Vishnevski finished with a goal and an assist.
"We're starting to work together," Anaheim coach Mike Babcock said. "Hopefully good things will continue to happen to us."
Josef Vasicek and Erik Cole scored goals for the Hurricanes, who are winless in their last four games (0-3-1). Kevin Weekes stopped 40 shots in his 100th game with Carolina.
Vishnevski's fifth goal of the season with 9:37 left in the second forced a 2-2 tie for Anaheim. He scored on wrist shot from the left circle.
The Ducks went ahead 3-2 when Pahlsson notched his second of the season with 4:23 left in the third period. Jason Krog backhanded a pass from behind the net to Pahlsson, who fired a shot on net and then scored on his own rebound.
"I thought they had the edge on us after the first five minutes," Carolina head coach Peter Laviolette said. "They had us pretty good for most of the game."
Vasicek put the Hurricanes ahead 1-0 in the first period on the power play. His 15th goal of the season came on a tip-in at 4:10.
In the second period, Prospal made it 1-1 on the power play at 2:55. Stationed near the left post, he re-directed a pass through the slot from Petr Sykora past Weekes.
Cole's shorthanded goal, 1:02 later, gave Carolina a 2-1 advantage. He converted on a 2-on-1 with Rod Brind'Amour, beating Gerber from the slot.
Before the game, the Ducks acquired forward Petr Schastlivy from Ottawa in exchange for defenseman Todd Simpson...Krog posted two assists for Anaheim...Sergei Fedorov notched an assist and is three points shy of becoming the first Russian-born player to reach 1,000 points in the NHL...Carolina went 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Ducks were 1-for-7 with the extra skater.
