NHL Game Summary - Florida at NY Islanders

Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - Jason Blake scored twice in the third period to lead the New York Islanders to a 4-2 win over Florida at Nassau Coliseum.
Radek Martinek and Trent Hunter both scored for the Islanders, who snapped a two-game losing streak (0-1-0-1).
"We played pretty well during the third period," Islanders coach Steve Stirling said. "We knew that if we could win it we could win the game."
Eric Beaudoin and Stephen Weiss scored for the Panthers, who are winless in their last three (0-2-1).
Garth Snow made 26 saves for New York, which rallied from a 2-1 deficit to push its unbeaten streak to eight games in the series (5-0-3).
Hunter's power play tally at 3:32 of the third period forced a 2-2 tie. Positioned near in the slot, he tipped in a shot from the center point.
Blake put the team ahead on a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle with 8:12 to go. He added an empty net, shorthanded tally with one minute remaining.
Prior to the final score, the Panthers thought they had the game-tying goal on a power play when their shot got past Snow, but it trickled outside the left post.
After a scoreless first period, the Islanders went ahead 1-0 early in the second. Martinek tipped in a shot from the right point past Roberto Luongo 1:20 into the period.
Luongo, the Panthers' goaltender, stopped 27 shots.
Florida then scored twice in the second period to take a 2-1 edge.
Beaudoin converted a backhand shot near the net at 9:30 of the period.
Weiss posted his 11th goal 2;19 later. Positioned near the right goalpost, he stopped a pass by Byron Ritchie, from the left wing, with his skate and slapped the puck into the net.
"I thought we played a pretty good game," Panthers coach Rick Dudley said. "We played hard and had chances to score."
Florida defenseman Lyle Odelein played in his 1,000th NHL game. He became the fifth player to reach the plateau with the team in franchise history...The Islanders have won all three meetings with Florida this season.
