Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Martin Gerber stopped 17 shots as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 at the RBC Center.
Andy McDonalnd, Ruslan Salei and Sergei Fedorov each added goals for the Mighty Ducks, who have won two straight.
Kevin Weekes stopped 28 shots and Rod Brind'Amour scored for the Hurricanes, who had their two-game winning streak snapped.
Anaheim scored twice to snap a 1-1 tie as Salei's goal at 6:56 redirected off the boards on an angle and slipped into a wide open net. Weekes out of his crease to play it, couldn't recover.
Fedorov added an insurance goal in the middle of the third period. He one- timed a shot from the blue-line that beat Weekes to his glove side.
The Ducks struck first as McDonald scored 10:35 into the first period. Samuel Pahlsson passed the puck to McDonald, who was crashing the net and redirected it past Weekes for a 1-0 lead.
Carolina knotted the game at 1-1 on Brind'Amour's fourth at 5:11 of the second period. He snapped a low backhander past Gerber.
Fedorov's goal was his 13th of the season...The Ducks have now won two straight on the road after snapping their 13-game road winless streak...Since Peter Laviolette replaced Paul Maurice as head coach the Hurricanes have won five of seven contests...Brind'Amour's tally was just his 4th of the season.
