NHL Game Summary - Atlanta at Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Ilya Kovalchuk tallied two goals and three assists to lead Atlanta over Pittsburgh, 7-4, at Mellon Arena.
Slava Kozlov scored two goals and added an assist and Marc Savard collected a goal and three assists for the Thrashers, who scored for the first time in four games to snap a three-game slide.
Ryan Malone, Milan Kraft and Martin Strbak all had a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who dropped their second straight game on the heels of a two-game win streak.
Kozlov snapped a 1-1 tie for Atlanta at 17:34 of the first period and the Thrashers led the rest of the way. While on the power play, Kozlov tallied his 14th of the season on a slap shot on a pass from Ilya Kovalchuk.
The Thrashers struck first in the second period, tallying the first two goals to increase their margin to 4-1. At 7:35 Patrik Stefan found the back of the net on a backhander. Just under four minutes later, Kovalchuk scored an unassisted tally.
But the Penguins cut the deficit to 4-3 with back-to-back goals of their own. Kraft tallied his seventh of the season on a wraparound at 11:58 and then Strbak celebrated on a wrist shot at 15:11.
Kovalchuk capped off the second-period scoring with a wrister to give Atlanta took a 5-3 edge after two periods.
Three goals were scored in the third period goal. Marc Savard scored on the power play for Atlanta, Rico Fata lit the lamp for Pittsburgh and Kozlov took advantage of a power play.
Just eight seconds into the game, Ronald Petrovicky opened the scoring for the Thrashers, before Malone tied the game at 1-1 for Pittsburgh when he tipped in a Dick Tarnstrom shot midway through the first period.
The game marked the third meeting between the two teams in the last 20 days...It was Mike Lange bobblehead doll night... Kozlov extended his point streak to four games.
