NHL Game Summary - Vancouver at Nashville

(Tuesday, December 16th)

Final Score: Vancouver 2, Nashville 1 (OT)

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Brendan Morrison scored on a backhand shot 1:19 into overtime to lift Vancouver to a 2-1 win over Nashville at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Mattias Ohlund also scored and Dan Cloutier stopped 29 of 30 shots for the Canucks, who are unbeaten in their last five (3-0-2) and have one loss in their last nine (5-1-3).

Rem Murray delivered his sixth goal and Tomas Vokoun made 22 saves for the Predators, who are winless in their last four (0-2-1-1).

Morrison ended Vancouver's fifth straight overtime game with his 12th goal. He skated through the left faceoff circle and fired a shot towards the net. Todd Bertuzzi fed the puck to Morrison, then skated in front of the net -- and a Predators defender -- to help set up the goal and screen the netminder.

Ohlund put the Canucks ahead 1-0 early in the second period. He intercepted an outlet pass and fired a wrist shot through traffic, from the left point, that went over Vokoun's glove.

Murray's shorthanded goal, on a give-and-go with Adam Hall, with less than seven minutes left in the third period forged a 1-1 tie for Nashville and forced overtime.
