Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Curtis Joseph stopped 21 shots as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Florida Panthers 4-1 at Joe Louis Arena.

Pavel Datsyuk, Kirk Maltby, Mark Mowers and Mathieu Schneider scored goals for Detroit, which has won four of its last five games. Datsyuk also added an assist.

Detroit is undefeated in its last 12 games against the Panthers (7-0-5), and is 8-1-1-1 in its last eleven games overall.

Robert Luongo stopped 36 shots and Lukas Krajicek scored the lone goal for the Panthers, who fell to 5-8-3 on the road this season.

The Red Wings struck first when Datsyuk scored 6:34 into the game. Kris Draper, who skated with the puck down the left side, went behind the net slipped a backhanded pass to Datsyuk. Datsyuk received the puck spun around and slipped a low backhander passed Luongo.

Florida scored the equalizer on what appeared to be a redirected tip-in by Krajicek on a shot by Jay Bouwmeester at 16:11 of the opening stanza.

Maltby gave Detroit the lead for good 6:57 into the second on a snap shot that sneaked by Luongo. Maltby poked the puck away from Krajicek, skated behind the Panthers net with the puck and pushed through his fifth tally of the season with the Wings shorthanded.

Detroit would tack on an insurance goal in the third period off the stick of Mowers 5:09 into the stanza. The power-play goal by Mowers was a tip-in off a shot by Brendan Shanahan.

Schneider added an empty netter with under a minute left in the contest.
