NHL Game Summary - Florida at Buffalo

Final Score: Buffalo 4, Florida 3

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Taylor Pyatt's goal with 5:32 left in the third period completed a furious comeback and lifted the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers at HSBC Arena.

Daniel Briere scored twice in the third period for the Sabres, who erased a 3-0 deficit to win their second straight contest. Curtis Brown also posted a goal for Buffalo.

Mika Noronen started the game for Buffalo, but was pulled after allowing two goals on seven shots. Martin Biron played the rest of the way and stopped 11 shots.

Stephen Weiss scored two goals for the Panthers, who fell to 2-4-1 in their last seven games. Juraj Kolnik also scored and Steve Shields made 29 saves in the setback.

Buffalo trailed 3-1 entering the third period, but dominated the final 20 minutes of play, outshooting Florida, 13-1, in the final stanza.

Briere's first goal cut the deficit to 3-2 at 7:06 of the third. He held the puck behind the net, charged to the front of the crease and slid a shot just inside the right post.

The Sabres then evened the score on Briere's power-play goal with 6:38 left. He blasted a slap shot from the left circle that sailed over Biron's right shoulder and into the net.

Pyatt's tally just over a minute later handed the Sabres their first lead of the game. Chris Drury skated behind the net with the puck and fed a pass for Pyatt in the left circle. Pyatt ripped a one-timer past Biron for the game- winning goal.

Weiss' first goal came just 60 seconds into the game when he beat Noronen with a slap shot from the slot.

The Panthers went ahead 2-0 after Kolnik's goal at 6:39 of the first stanza.

The score remained that way until Weiss made it a 3-0 game with 6:12 left in the second period. Valeri Bure made a backhand pass into the right circle and Weiss blasted a one-timer past Biron.

The Sabres reached the scoreboard on Brown's tally with 2:51 left in the middle stanza. Maxim Afinogenov shuffled the puck over to Brown and he charged at the net. Brown made a few dekes before lifting a backhand over Shields' glove hand.

Game Notes

Pyatt's goal was his first in 12 games...Afinogenov posted two assists for the Sabres...Buffalo went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Panthers failed to score on four opportunities with the man advantage...The Sabres are 3-1-1 in the last five meetings with Florida.
