Weiss, who scored in overtime to give Florida a 3-2 win at Washington on Saturday, gave the Panthers the lead with a power-play goal. The rookie was stationed in front of Buffalo netminder Martin Biron and redirected Jay Bouwmeester's shot from the top of the left circle into the goal at 12:40.
Mathieu Biron was streaking down the slot and redirected a pass from Weiss past his brother Martin with 1:43 remaining to give the Panthers a two-goal advantage after one period.
Martin Biron robbed Mathieu with a glove save on a breakaway midway through the second period to keep the Sabres' deficit at two.
Luongo made 21 saves through two periods before Dumont's power play score, his seventh of the season, at 2:18 of the final frame cut the Panthers' lead to 2-1 on the power play. The netminder made 15 saves in the third period, including a stop on Chris Drury from point blank range with under three minutes to go.
Drury fired the puck into the net after a scramble in front, but the horn had already sounded to end the contest.
