York carried the puck along the right wing as Edmonton came charging on a 3- on-2 rush in overtime. Calgary was finally able to draw even after Lombardi scored on a wraparound in the middle period. With a defender all over him, Lombardi whirled around the net and squeezed the puck between Conklin's pads at 17:07 of the second period to make it a 1-1 game.
Edmonton's attempt to win the game in regulation failed as Ethan Moreau's shot hit off the post and caromed harmlessly into the corner with just several minutes left in regulation.
