Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Petr Sykora scored with 1:17 remaining in overtime to lift the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim past the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-1, in the back end of a home-and-home series at the Pond.

The Coyotes posted a 4-3 overtime win against Anaheim at America West Arena on Saturday.

Steve Rucchin also found the net for the Ducks, who won for the first time in five games (1-2-0-2). Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 27 saves for Anaheim.

Zac Bierk started in goal for the Coyotes and stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced. However, he was forced to leave the game after the first period because of a hip flexor problem.

Sean Burke replaced Bierk and turned aside 28-of-29 shots.

On the game-winning goal, Sandis Ozolinsh carried the puck over the Phoenix blue line and dropped a pass for Sykora in the left circle. Sykora then rifled a shot over Burke's left shoulder for his fourth goal of the season.

Burke had kept the game tied a few minutes earlier when he made a blocker save on Sergei Fedorov's slap shot from the top of the slot.

The Mighty Ducks grabbed a 1-0 lead on Rucchin's shorthanded goal at 14:17 of the first period. Rucchin stripped the puck from Anaheim defenseman David Tanabe along the right wing boards, skated in on Bierk and beat the goaltender through the legs for his sixth goal of the season. He also scored two power- play goals in Saturday's contest.

The Coyotes evened the contest with just 1:26 remaining in the second period. Nagy picked up a loose puck, skated to the right circle and launched a high wrister off the far post and behind Giguere for his eighth tally of the campaign.
