St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Keith Tkachuk scored the game's only two goals to lead St. Louis over Florida, 2-0, at Savvis Center.
Chris Osgood made 21 saves en route to his first shutout of the season and the 39th of his career for the Blues, who tallied their third straight win.
Roberto Luongo allowed two goals on 22 shots before getting pulled for Steve Shields, as the Panthers lost for the third time in four tries. It was the first time all season that Florida was held without a goal.
Just 7:18 into the game, Tkachuk posted his eighth goal of the season on a 4- on-1 break. Pavol Demitra fed the puck toward the net, where Tkachuk redirected it past Luongo from the slot.
Tkachuk increased the St. Louis edge to 2-0 at 10:02 of the second on another assist from Demitra, who now has 10 helpers on the year. Demitra blasted a slap shot from the top of the right circle that Tkachuk was able to tip past Luongo's glove.
The Panthers outshot the Blues 10-6 in a scoreless third.
Shields made six saves in relief for Florida.
St. Louis played without center Doug Weight, who was serving the first of a four-game suspension for cross-checking Vancouver's Henrik Sedin in the face.
