NHL Game Summary - Columbus at Vancouver

(Tuesday, November 29th)

Final Score: Vancouver 4, Columbus 1

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Cory Schneider stopped a career-high 47 shots to help the Vancouver Canucks take a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"They put a lot of pucks on goal," Schneider said. "That top line with [Rick] Nash and [Jeff] Carter is one of the best in the league. Every time they're on the ice you have to be ready."

Daniel Sedin, Ryan Kesler and Alexandre Burrows each had a goal and an assist while David Booth also scored for the Canucks, winners of five straight.

Samuel Pahlsson scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets, who have lost three of four. Curtis Sanford stopped 30-of-33 shots in the loss.

"We had a lot of shots and a lot of good chances, but Schneider was sharp," said Pahlsson. "We lost some battles early, but I thought we played a pretty good game."

Sedin scored 3:19 in to give Vancouver the lead when Alexander Edler fired a shot from the left point that hit a skater in front with Sedin cleaning up the rebound.

With 2:18 to play in the first, Booth outmuscled his defender down low to the right of the net and was able to backhand the puck in.

Skating shorthanded, Columbus was able to get one past Schneider as Fedor Tyutin threw a shot on net from the left wing, got his own rebound back and centered it for Pahlsson, who one-timed it home 4:27 into the third.

However, the Canucks got it back just 1:28 later. Sedin had the puck along the deep right boards and sent it to the high slot where Burrows fired a pass over to the left circle for Kesler, who one-timed it home as he was falling to the ice.

Burrows' empty-netter with 43 seconds to play sealed the victory.
