NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at Nashville

(Saturday, October 29th)

Final Score: Nashville 3, Anaheim 0

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Pekka Rinne notched his 22nd career shutout, and second this season, as the Nashville Predators blanked the Anaheim Ducks, 3-0.

Rinne made 20 saves.

Patric Hornqvist, Martin Erat and Shea Weber tallied for Nashville, which has won its last two and three of its past four.

"We showed mental toughness and character toughness tonight when things got chippy," said Predators head coach Barry Trotz.

Jonas Hiller stopped 26-of-29 shots for the Ducks, who've dropped four of their past five.

Hornqvist tallied just 14 seconds into the opening period. Colin Wilson flicked a shot on net from the left circle and Hornqvist was there to jam it home with a backhand in the crease.

Erat skated into Anaheim's zone with a burst of speed and dropped it back to Jordin Tootoo who skated into the right circle. Tootoo then found Erat just left of the slot, and he wristed it home with just 1:01 remaining in the first period.

After a scoreless second period, Weber scored on the power play 2:14 into the final period to make it 3-0. From the high point he rifled a slap shot into the upper-left corner.
