NHL Game Summary - Vancouver at Edmonton

(Tuesday, April 5th)

Final Score: Edmonton 2, Vancouver 0

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Devan Dubnyk stopped 26 shots for his second career shutout as Edmonton downed Vancouver, 2-0.

Ryan Jones and Magnus Paajarvi each had a goal while Jeff Petry added two assists for the Oilers, who took both games of the home-and-home set against the Canucks.

Roberto Luongo made 20 saves for the Canucks, who have already locked up the Presidents' Trophy and dropped consecutive games for the first time since a four-game slump from Jan. 16-22.

"I think you have to give a lot of credit to Edmonton cause they're playing hard and tight out there," said Vancouver head coach Alain Vigneault. "We'll be fine when the playoffs come around."

Jones scored off a tip-in of a Jordan Eberle shot on the power play with three seconds left in the first to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead.

Dubnyk stopped 18 shots through the first two periods to keep Vancouver off the board.

Paajarvi scored a power-play goal with 2:46 left in the game to give Edmonton some insurance and Dubnyk finished the frame with eight saves to preserve the shutout.
