Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Brenden Morrow tallied twice to lead Dallas over Edmonton, 3-1, at American Airlines Center.
Adam Burish posted a goal and Jamie Langenbrunner added two assists for the Stars, who hit the All-Star break with seven wins in their last 10 games.
Kari Lehtonen stopped 34-of-35 shots for the win.
There was two stinkers and we finally came out and showed a little bit more life, did a better job taking away the shooting lanes," said Morrow about Dallas, which lost its last two games by a combined 14-5 count.
Dustin Penner provided the lone offense for the Oilers, who skidded into the break having dropped six of seven.
Nikolai Khabibulin allowed three goals on 21 shots for the loss.
Burish put the Stars ahead with 9:22 remaining in the first period on a wrister from the right circle.
It was 2-0 at 2:32 of the second period on a Dallas power play on Morrow's rebound score at the left post, then the Stars captain tallied once more at 8:22.
Penner's power-play score at 17;44 got the Oilers within two before the end of the second, but the visitors failed to dent Lehtonen with 10 shots in the third period.
"Tonight was one of those games where you could show your mettle and be a real mature team and accept the battle," Oilers head coach Tom Renney said. "That's what good teams do. We need to grow up and understand the value of that."
Dallas has won all three meetings with Edmonton this season and has won five straight over the Oilers since last January...Morrow reached the 20-goal mark for the second straight season and for the seventh time in his career...Penner finished January with five total goals...The Stars host Vancouver on February 1 and the Oilers host LA on February 2.
