NHL Game Summary - Pittsburgh at Nashville

(Thursday, October 21st)

Final Score: Pittsburgh 4, Nashville 3 (OT)

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Kris Letang scored with 1:11 left in overtime, as the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied for a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena.

Sidney Crosby had two goals, including the equalizer in the third period, along with an assist. Letang added two assists for the Penguins, who have won four in a row. Marc-Andre Fleury made 21 saves in the win.

Pekka Rinne gave up four goals on 38 shots for the Predators, who have dropped their last three -- all in overtime.

"The third period, I don't know if we got a little bit tired, but they kind of got the momentum and they had a little bit more chances," Rinne said. "They took advantage of that and scored a couple goals."

It was a 2-2 game entering the third period, and Patric Hornqvist put Nashville in front at 5:08. But with 7:04 left, Crosby netted his sixth goal of the season.

With time winding down in overtime, Crosby dished to Letang on the left side of the ice. Letang skated to get a good angle, then blasted a shot through traffic and into the net, ending the game.

"In the third, there, Hornqvist's goal, they didn't really have much until they got that chance," Crosby said of the Predators. "I think we tried to just stick with it, got that third one, and overtime's kind of 50-50."

David Legwand opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game, when he sent in a short one-timer off a pass from Jordin Tootoo.

But only 54 seconds into the second period, Evgeni Malkin deposited a rebound off a Mike Comrie shot after Rinne couldn't hang on to the puck.

Cody Franson's shot got through Fleury's pads at 8:03 while Nashville was on the power play, but Crosby netted his first goal of the contest nearly six minutes later.
