NHL Game Summary - Phoenix at Dallas

(Saturday, February 6th)

Final Score: Dallas 4, Phoenix 0

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Marty Turco stopped 34 shots for his third shutout of the season as the Dallas Stars took a 4-0 win over the Phoenix Coyotes at American Airlines Center.

Jamie Benn scored twice while James Neal and Loui Eriksson each had a goal and an assist for the Stars, who have won four of their last six.

"It's always been a work in progress," said Turco. "We had a good team effort tonight and the guys scoring four goals made things easy for me."

Ilya Bryzgalov was charged with all four goals on 35 shots for the Coyotes, who came into the game having won six straight.

"Our whole group look tired tonight without a doubt," said Phoenix head coach Dave Tippett. "It's been a long week on the road and we've played some very hard games. We knew what we were up against today and we didn't come out on top."

Dallas jumped on top just 3:36 in, as Neal's wrister got past Bryzgalov for his 23rd goal of the season.

Skating shorthanded, the Stars took a 2-0 lead as Neal sent a lead pass to Eriksson, who grabbed the puck behind the defense and snapped a wrister into the right corner with 1:27 to play in the first.

Just 2:37 into the second, Benn lifted a backhander past Bryzgalov from the low slot.

A little under four minutes later, Benn made it a 4-0 contest when his wrister from the right circle sailed between Bryzgalov's pads for his 13th goal of the season.
