NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at Florida

(Monday, February 1st)

Final Score: Anaheim 3, Florida 0

Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - Jonas Hiller stopped all 33 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season, as the Anaheim Ducks took a 3-0 win over the Florida Panthers.

Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and assist for the Ducks, who have won their last two games to end a six-game road trip at 3-3-0. Corey Perry also scored in the victory, while Teemu Selanne, in his first game back since breaking his jaw in a January 13 contest against Boston, added his 17th goal of the season.

Tomas Vokoun let in all three goals on 25 shots for the Panthers, who were coming off Sunday's 2-0 win over the Islanders. Vokoun made 33 saves in that shutout victory.

"We didn't do enough to earn goals tonight...They were hungrier than us," Panthers head coach Peter DeBoer said.

After a scoreless first period, the Ducks built a two-goal edge late in the second. Getzlaf netted a wrister with 4:43 remaining, and Anaheim got its second after going on the power play with a minute to go. Panthers defenseman Keith Ballard was whistled for high-sticking, and the Ducks took advantage with just a second on the clock, as Selanne tipped the puck past Vokoun.

Hiller made eight saves in the first period, 12 in the second and 13 in the third to make the lead stick. Perry recorded his 20th goal of the season with 2:42 left in the game to secure the victory.

"I think we played a pretty good road game tonight. They played last night so we tried to keep the pressure up," Hiller said. "I'm happy with the win. It was a really important two points for us."
