Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - David Legwand notched a pair of goals as Nashville conquered Chicago, 4-1, at Sommet Center.
Shea Weber and Radek Bonk also scored for the Predators, who have won back-to- back games for the first time since a three-game win streak from December 1-6. Pekka Rinne stopped 34 shots in the win.
Adam Burish scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, who have lost two in a row. Cristobal Huet played well in defeat, making 34 saves.
Legwand opened the scoring for Nashville with 9:19 to play in the opening period, stashing home a feed by Martin Erat from the low slot.
The Preds took a 2-0 lead with 3:14 to play in the second on a man advantage. J.P. Dumont controlled a loose puck off the right boards and dished back to Weber, whose blistering point shot zipped past Huet.
Burish got the Hawks on the board 6:11 into the third period, but Bonk sent Nashville back up by a pair at 12:03.
Legwand slipped the clincher into an empty net with 39 seconds to go.
Nashville has won three of the last four meetings and both this season...Predators forward Steve Sullivan returned to the lineup for the first time since the end of the 2006-07 season following surgery for a serious back injury...Ryan Suter and Joel Ward each had a pair of assists for the Predators...Prior to the contest, the Atlanta Thrashers claimed forward Rich Peverley off waivers from Nashville.
