NHL Game Summary - Florida at Anaheim

(Sunday, November 9th)

Final Score: Florida 3, Anaheim 1

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - David Booth recorded his first hat trick and Craig Anderson stopped 44 shots, as the Florida Panthers put the brakes on a six-game skid with a 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

Stephen Weiss and Jassen Cullimore each had two assists as the Panthers wrapped up a five-game road trip by beating the Ducks for the first time since Dec. 27, 2003.

"It was good, especially against a team like that," said Booth. "We've been desperate to get a couple of wins. Craig Anderson played great in net and the defense played good all the way out. The puck just happened to go in off my stick."

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 23 stops and Corey Perry had the lone goal for the Ducks, who have lost two in a row since a three-game win streak.

"I didn't think we were physical enough and I didn't think we executed physically to the level that was necessary until later in the hockey game," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "In the NHL it takes 60 minutes to win, and I don't think we played 60 minutes."

Perry scored on a shot from the right circle just 1:41 into the game, but Booth tied it less than three minutes later on a backhander from the right circle.

Anderson stopped 13 shots in the middle period when Booth scored twice. He gave Florida the lead on a one-timer from the slot off a feed from Weiss at the 6:18 mark.

It became a two-goal difference with 1:48 remaining on a wrister through traffic. The Panthers were on the power play thanks to an interference call on Scott Niedermayer.

Game Notes

Booth has seven goals this season...Anaheim defenseman Steve Montador faced his former club for the first time after being signed by the Ducks in the offseason. Montador played in 196 games with Florida (2005-08)...The Panthers were 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Ducks finished 0-for-4...The Panthers still have a dreadful 2-6-1 record as the visiting team this year.
