Final Score: Phoenix 2, St. Louis 0

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Ilya Bryzgalov stopped all 35 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season as the Phoenix Coyotes snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the St. Louis Blues at Jobing.com Arena.

Zbynek Michalek and Joel Perrault both scored for Phoenix, which improved to 14-14-3 at home this season. Keith Ballard and Steve Reinprecht each added an assist in the victory.

Manny Legace allowed two goals on 20 shots for St. Louis, which finished a winless three-game road trip.

After a scoreless first period, in which the Blues outshot the Coyotes, 18-5, Michalek broke through for Phoenix 4:27 into the second stanza, blasting a one-timer from the slot past Legace for the 1-0 Coyotes lead.

St. Louis peppered Bryzgalov with 27 shots through the first 40 minutes, but the Coyotes netminder stopped them all to preserve the 1-0 edge heading to the third period.

Perrault put the Coyotes up 2-0 with 7:57 left in the third. Just seconds after a Phoenix power play expired, Ballard blasted a shot from the point that was blocked, but picked up in the slot by Perrault and stuffed through Legace's five-hole to give Phoenix a comfortable cushion down the stretch.

The Coyotes killed of a 6-on-4 power play with Legace pulled for an extra attacker in the final minute to lock up Bryzgalov's first shutout since November 17, 2007.
