Final Score: New Jersey 4, Boston 3 (OT)

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Patrik Elias netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the New Jersey Devils stormed back from three down to upend the Boston Bruins, 4-3, and extend their winning streak to eight games.

Zach Parise had two goals as well while Martin Brodeur rebounded from a shaky first period to record 23 saves for the Devils. The winning streak is the longest for New Jersey since it closed out the 2005-06 regular season with 11 straight victories.

Dennis Wideman, Glen Murray and Zdeno Chara all lit the lamp for Boston, which had won seven of 10 coming in. Tim Thomas stopped 28 shots before leaving late in regulation with an undisclosed injury. Tuukka Rask allowed the deciding goal.

"It's unfortunate -- we were in a position to get two (points). We still got one," said Boston coach Claude Julien.

Down 3-0, the Devils netted three in a row to knot the contest and force overtime.

New Jersey got two back in the second. Brian Gionta led a rush down ice with about 13 minutes remaining, and sent a feed towards the net that Elias redirected past Thomas.

The Devils pulled within one with 4:09 left in the frame on a power-play goal from Parise.

The equalizer came with 5:57 left in the contest. Sheldon Brookbank registered his first career point on the sequence, shooting a wobbler toward the net that Parise knocked out of midair for the redirection goal.

Elias sealed the comeback win with 1:44 left in overtime, taking a drop pass from Parise in the right circle and firing a shot that found room short-side.

The Bruins erupted for three goals in the first period to gain command, the first coming off the stick of Chara at the 6:21 mark.

Murray unfurled a shot from the point that made it through traffic and past Brodeur just over five minutes later. Wideman upped the advantage to 3-0 with 3:20 to play, snapping the disc over the left shoulder of Brodeur for a power-play tally.

"We knew that the first period was gross. We were bad," Parise said. "There was no panic. It was, 'Let's start waking up. We're not out of this game.' We knew it was only 20 minutes."

Game Notes

The Devils have won the first five tests of their six-game homestand. They will wrap up the current residency Friday night against Washington... This was the finale of a season-high six-game road trip for the Bruins, who went 3-3 on the swing...New Jersey has won seven of the last nine meetings with the Bruins.
