Phoenix to a 3-1 win over Vancouver.

victory -- one shy of Terry Sawchuk for fourth place on the all-time wins

Dallas on Wednesday in the first round of the playoffs.
"It's hard to keep your focus after last night, and obviously we were looking
ahead a little bit," said Canucks forward Trevor Linden. "But we are really
looking forward to the challenge of Dallas."
Thomas opened the scoring for Phoenix 5:45 into the first period, but Burrows
knotted the game midway through the period. Morris put the Coyotes up 2-1 with
a power-play goal at 12:12 and Phoenix led by a goal at intermission.
Two pucks hit the crossbar and one found the goal post in the second, but
neither team could hit the net despite 18 combined shots on goal.
Playing for pride in the final 20 minutes, the Coyotes stifled a speedy
Canucks attack. Joseph stopped all nine shots he faced, and with Brendan
Morrison in the box, Roenick added an empty-net goal with 22 seconds to go to
seal the victory.
Vancouver has won nine of the last 11 meetings, including three of four this
season...Phoenix forwards Steve Reinprecht and Owen Nolan recorded assists to
each finish with 24 on the year...Nolan finished third on the team in scoring
with 40 points...The Canucks went scoreless in five power-play chances and the
Coyotes scored twice in six attempts.
