Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Jere Lehtinen's dazzling goal with 4.6 seconds
left in overtime lifted the Dallas Stars past the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-3.
As time ran out in the extra period, Darryl Sydor fired a shot from the point
that Mikael Tellqvist managed to get a pad on. However, Lehtinen swatted the
rebound on net and the puck hit off of Tellqvist's left shoulder, into the air
and then off the back of the netminder's head and into the net for the game-
"I made a pad save and (the puck) was right there, it hit my chest and went
straight up," said Tellqvist. "I never felt it; it was just a bad break."
Lehtinen finished with a three-point night, tallying two goals and an assist
for the Stars, who have won four of their last five.
Jussi Jokinen and Niklas Hagman also scored for Dallas, while Marty Turco
ended with 28 saves.
"I thought our team played very hard right from the get-go," said Stars head
coach Dave Tippett. "We deserved to win."
Ed Jovanovski, Owen Noland and Michael Zigomanis each scored for the Coyotes,
who have dropped two of three. Tellqvist finished with 40 saves.
Dallas drew first blood 8:48 into the opening period. From the left point,
Philippe Boucher sent a pass to Jokinen in right face circle. Jokinen one-
timed a pass to Lehtinen, who wristed the puck top shelf for the power play
Jokinen's one-timer gave the Stars a 2-0 lead with 6:52 left in the first

The Stars took a 3-1 lead just 42 seconds into the second period. Hagman, from
behind the net, squeezed past Jovanovksi, skated in front and beat Tellqvist
through the five-hole for the goal.
Nolan's wrister from the right circle just over five minutes later made it 3-2
and Phoenix managed to net the equalizer in the third period.
At the 7:46 mark of the third period, Ladislav Nagy's initial shot deflected
in front of the net and Zigomanis was there to fire the puck off the crossbar
Dallas improved to 4-0 against Phoenix this season. The Coyotes had been
shutout in the previous three encounters...Dallas went 2-for-5 on the power
play, while Phoenix went 1-for-5.
