Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 27 saves as the
Anaheim Ducks edged the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, at Honda Center.
Scott Niedermayer and Sean O'Donnell each tallied a goal for the Ducks, who
have won two straight after dropping two in a row.
Giguere was stellar, as he made 11 saves in the third period as Minnesota was
handed its first loss of the season.
Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored the lone goal for the Wild, who finished 0-for-5
on the power play. Manny Fernandez stopped 27 shots in the loss.
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead at the 3:25 into the second period when
Niedermayer's wrist shot from behind the right circle zipped through the pads
of Fernandez. Todd Fedoruk and Corey Perry picked up assists on the goal.
After receiving a centering pass from Samuel Pahlsson, O'Donnell's slap shot
sailed into the left side of the net and extended Anaheim's lead to two with
nearly 11 minutes gone by in the second.
Minnesota responded less than two minutes later when Bouchard slipped the puck
under the stick of a sprawled-out Giguere to cut the deficit, 2-1.

Pahlsson played in his 200th consecutive game...Anaheim finished 0-for-4 with
the man advantage...Kurtis Foster and Brian Rolston notched assists for the
Wild...Anaheim travels to Los Angeles on Sunday while Minnesota plays at San
