Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - Olli Jokinen's goal in the third period turned
out to be the difference maker as the Florida Panthers defeated the Washington
Capitals, 3-2, in a makeup game at BankAtlantic Center.

games in a row. Brent Johnson stopped 33-of-36 shots faced in the loss.
The game was originally scheduled to take place on October 29, but was
postponed due to Hurricane Wilma.
A power-play tally would put Florida up 3-1 in the third. With Cassels off for
holding, Jokinen took a pass at the point from Mike Van Ryn and wristed a shot
through traffic that deflected off of Johnson's glove and in 4:19 into the
Washington would answer just over three minutes later to make it 3-2. After
Luongo made a flurry of saves on a scramble in front, Cassels finally put one
home off the rebound behind the netminder at the 7:24 mark.
However, Washington would fail to get the equalizer before time expired.
Florida drew first blood in the game after Weiss' power-play goal at the 12:26
mark of the first period and Horton's goal 7:25 into the second frame extended
the Panthers to a two-goal lead.
Horton's goal came after a shot from the right circle that hit off of
Johnson's left shoulder and into the net.
Muir's power-play goal pulled the Capitals to within 2-1 at the 11:20 mark of
the second. After Muir intercepted a clearing attempt along the right boards,
the defenseman skated to the center of the zone before firing a shot from the
point that beat Luongo stick side.

knee sprain...Muir played in his 200th career game...Washington finished 1-
for-7 on the power play, Florida netted two goals in four chances...Van Ryn
ended with two assists, giving him 12 on the season...Washington fell to 7-8
