Final Score: Nashville 4, Calgary 3

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Scottie Upshall scored the decisive goal in the third period to cap a 4-3 comeback victory for the Nashville Predators over the Calgary Flames at Pengrowth Saddledome.

Adam Hall, Vernon Fiddler and Jerred Smithson all tallied goals for the Predators, who have won six straight games.

Tomas Vokoun turned aside 23 shots in the victory.

Rookie defenseman Dion Phaneuf had a goal and an assist for the Flames, who had a modest two-game win streak snapped.

Philippe Sauve allowed four goals on 40 shots.

Trailing 3-2 in the final frame, Nashville netted two goals in the third to take the lead.

After a battle behind the Calgary net for a loose puck, Jordin Tootoo swept the disc out in front where Smithson poked it past Sauve on his stick side.

With 6:47 left in regulation the Flames went up 4-3 after Upshall netted his fourth of the season. At the right side of the net, Greg Johnson slipped a pass across to Upshall and he backhanded the puck into the top left corner.

With about 1:50 to go in regulation, Marcus Nilson fired a rebound in front back at Vokoun, who made a sliding pad save. The Flames pulled the goalie with a minute to go, but did not generate any scoring chances.

Calgary drew first blood scoring 5:42 into the opening period. On the power play, Nilson one-timed a pass from Andrew Ference at the right faceoff circle that slipped through Vokoun's five-hole.

With 25 seconds left in the first, the Flames went up 2-0 with a power-play tally. Paul Kariya's clearing attempt was knocked down at the blueline by Phaneuf, who blasted a heavy slap shot high, glove side on Vokoun.

The Predators got on the board at the 7:37 mark of the second stanza with a power-play goal. Hall deflected Dan Hamhuis' shot from the left point out of mid-air and down to the ice, causing the puck to bounce over Sauve's blocker and into the net.

A power-play tally by Fiddler with 5:55 remaining in the second tied things up at 2-2.

With 2:22 left until the second intermission, Kristian Huselius came around from behind the net and banked the puck off Vokoun's back and into the net for the 3-2 Calgary lead.
