NHL Game Summary - Dallas at Detroit

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Jere Lehtinen scored two power-play goals to lead Dallas back from a three-goal deficit, as the Stars defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 6-3, at Joe Louis Arena.

Marty Turco gave up three goals on 12 shots before being pulled for Johan Hedberg early in the second period. Hedberg did not allow a goal on 13 shots faced and Niko Kapanen had a goal and an assist for Dallas, which has won three straight games.

Mike Modano and Sergei Zubov registered three assists apiece and Mathias Tjarnqvist added his first tally of the season for the Stars.

Henrik Zetterberg and Mathieu Schneider had a goal and an assist each but Chris Osgood gave up six goals on 23 shots for the Red Wings, who had a two- game winning streak snapped. Manny Legace replaced Osgood in the third period and stopped all nine shots he faced.

The Red Wings drew first blood 3:13 into the first period while on a two-man advantage after Zetterberg took a slap pass from Schneider below the right circle and deposited it top shelf for a 1-0 lead.

Detroit made it 2-0 just 25 seconds into the second period after Schneider ripped a wrist shot from the high slot past Turco. Detroit extended that lead just over a minute later while on the power play after Jason Williams' wrister from the high slot snaked its way past Turco to make it 3-0.

The Stars scored six unanswered goals, however, to turn the tables on Detroit.

Dallas began to chip away at Detroit's lead after Niklas Hagman stuffed one past Osgood from the side of the net to make it 3-1. The Stars made it 3-2 while on the power play after Lehtinen's wrist shot from inside the right circle beat Osgood stick side.

Dallas netted the equalizer with 2:01 left in the second frame after Philippe Boucher beat Osgood with a slap shot from the right point. The Stars then took their first lead of the game 6:17 into the third period while on the power play after Lehtinen beat Osgood with a backhand shot from the left circle that made it 4-3.

The Stars increased their lead to 5-3 just 41 seconds later when Kapanen beat Osgood with a wrist shot from the slot. Dallas pushed its lead to 6-3 just under two minutes later after Tjarnqvist scored his first goal of the season.

The Red Wings had their unbeaten streak against Dallas halted at 10 games...Detroit fell to 8-3-0 against the Pacific Division this season...Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk, who had two assists in the game, registered his 200th career NHL point on Schneider's goal...Williams has a three-game point streak...Turco hasn't beaten the Red Wings in 11 career games...Zubov has a five-game assist streak...Dallas has outscored its opponents 10-1 in the third period over the past five games.
