NHL Game Summary - St. Louis at Columbus

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Sergei Fedorov scored a goal and added an assist as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the St. Louis Blues, 4-1, at Nationwide Arena.

Pascal Leclaire made 26 saves for Columbus, which ended a three-game losing streak. Mark Hartigan, Aaron Johnson and Manny Malhotra also tallied for the Blue Jackets.

Rostislav Klesla added two assists in the victory.

Jamal Mayers scored the lone goal for St. Louis, which lost its second game in a row and 15 of its last 16 games overall. Jason Bacashihua allowed four goal on 31 shots.

After a scoreless opening period, the Blue Jackets grabbed a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal 1:10 into the second stanza. At the top of the right circle, Fedorov cranked a slap shot that sailed over Bacashihua's left shoulder and into the net.

Columbus made it a 2-0 game at 2:28 of the second after Hartigan emerged from a scrum in front for a loose puck and slipped the disc past Bacashihua on his stick side.

St. Louis got on the board with 8:51 left in the second period to make it a 2-1 contest. From the right half wall, Petr Cajanek centered a pass to Mayers in the low slot and his one-timer beat Leclaire low on the stick side.

Columbus extended its lead to 3-1 at 7:04 of the final frame on Johnson's second goal of the season. At the left circle, Fedorov dished the puck across to a streaking Johnson, who one-timed the feed past a sliding Bacashihua for the goal.

Malhotra's 10th goal of the season with 4:13 left in the third period pushed the Columbus lead to 4-1.

Game Notes

Columbus is 5-3 against St. Louis this season...Fedorov has 10 goals and 29 assists on the campaign...The Blue Jackets will host Chicago on Saturday...The Blues will host Detroit on Saturday...Columbus went 1-for-7 on the power play while St. Louis failed to convert in five chances with the man advantage.
