Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Cory Stillman scored the game-winning tally with

Dainius Zubrus and Alexander Semin lit the lamp for the Capitals, who lost for
the third time in four games (1-3-0). Sebastien Charpentier stopped 19 of the
22 shots he faced in the loss.
Stillman scored the game winner on a 2-on-1 break with Brad Richards. Richards
blasted a slap shot that rang off the post. The puck caromed off of Stillman's
chest and in as he crashed the net.
"We let them come back into the game," Modin said. "But we managed to come out
St. Louis added the empty netter with just 11 ticks left, his 31st of the
year, to put the exclamation point on the win. With the goal, St. Louis now
has 75 points to lead the league in scoring. It marks the first time in
franchise history that a Lightning player has been atop the scoring list.
"It was a tough ending." said Zubrus.
Modin staked the Lightning to a 2-0 first-period lead with two goals less than
six minutes apart.
The first came just prior to the midway point of the stanza as Modin skated in
from the right corner with the puck. He didn't have much to shoot at but he
somehow squeezed one over Charpentier.
Modin's second of the night came with five minutes to play in the period. He
fought off Washington's Brian Willsie in the left circle to retrieve a dump
in. His first effort was denied by Charpentier but he kept swatting at the
puck, eventually getting it by the netminder for his 21st of the season.
Charpentier thwarted Modin's early hat-trick bid in the final minute of the
first, stoning him from point-blank range.
Washington got within one when Zubrus tallied his 12th of the campaign just
past the midway point of the second with a beautiful spin move. Zubrus was
streaking down the left side when he pulled up in the lower left circle. He
then spun around on his backhand a threaded a shot through Khabibulin.
Semin knotted it up at 2-2 on a sharp-angle shot that Khabibulin should have
had with 11:16 to play.
The game looked to be headed to overtime until Tampa Bay's odd-man rush netted
the deciding marker.
