Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Marty Turco made 33 saves to earn his 16th career shutout and lead Dallas to a 2-0 win over St. Louis at American Airlines Center.

Turco turned away 12 shots in the initial two periods on the way to his fourth shutout of the season for the Stars, who won for the third time in four games. Aaron Downey and Philippe Boucher scored.

"That's the greatest goaltending performance I've ever seen in my life," said Downey. "He was in a complete zone and he won that game for us."

Chris Osgood made 18 saves for the Blues, who suffered their second straight loss overall and are winless in their last three trips to Dallas (0-2-1).

Downey put the Stars ahead 1-0 with 3:20 left in the first period. His first goal of the season came on a wrist shot from above the right faceoff circle.

In the second period, Dallas forward Mike Modano was awarded a penalty shot, but his attempt with 6:12 left in the period hit the left post.

Boucher posted his first goal in 30 games on the power play with 3:35 left in the third period. He scored on a slap shot from the left faceoff circle.

The Stars held a 9-3 shot advantage in the third period.

Game Notes

The Blues have lost five of their last six on the road...Dallas improved to 18-3-2-0 when scoring first and haven't loss in 56 games when leading after two periods (50-0-6)...St. Louis finished 0-for-6 on the power play.
