St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - Jim Dowd scored the game-winning goal with 24
seconds left to lift the Minnesota Wild over Buffalo, 3-2 at the Xcel Energy
Antti Laaksonen scored the game-tying goal for the Wild with five minutes
left, as Minnesota improved to 3-2-1 in its last six games.
Miroslav Satan scored a goal and assisted on one for the Sabres, as Buffalo
dropped its second game of the season to Minnesota.
Mika Noronen made 21 saves for the Sabres, while Manny Fernandez made 15 stops
Buffalo took a 2-1 lead less than two minutes into the third period when Chris
Drury took a pass from Satan and fired a wrist shot past Fernandez.
Before giving up the final two goals in the last five minutes, Noronen had a
strong second period as he stopped 11 shots.
Both teams swapped goals in the first period. Buffalo got on the board first
when Satan scored to make it 1-0. The Wild answered six minutes later when
