Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Slava Kozlov scored with 2:03 remaining in
overtime to lift the Atlanta Thrashers to a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers
in a Southeast Division battle from the Office Depot Center.

The game-winning goal, Kozlov's 11th tally of the season, came when Frantisek
Kaberle carried the puck out from the right boards and zipped a pass to Kozlov
at the point. He carried the puck toward center and put a slapshot through
traffic on net, beating Luongo high and to the glove side.
Cowan opened the scoring 8:31 into the game with his sixth tally of the
season. Ilya Kovalchuk ripped a slapshot from the left point that deflected
off the stickside post and came out off of Luongo's skate. With the puck lying
uncovered in the crease, Cowan tucked it in.
But Cullen responded with an unassisted goal 9:30 later, and the Panthers
would score twice more in the second period to grab a 3-1 lead.
Ritchie's goal came less than seven minutes into the middle stanza, when
Nurminen made a high blocker save on a shot from Mathieu Biron from the right
point. The puck rebounded to Ritchie in the slot, and he fired a backhand
through a crowd, beating Nurminen five-hole.
Less than two minutes later, on the power play, Horton scored his fourth of
the year to stake the Panthers to a two-goal lead. Valeri Bure shot a wrister
from the left point, and Horton, from the top of crease, deflected the puck
down and between Nurminen's pads.
But McEachern pulled the Thrashers within one goal just over seven minutes
later. Marc Savard carried the puck around the net from right to left and sent
it through the crease. Luongo poked the puck away, but it deflected off Lyle
Odelein's skate at top of crease, and McEachern used a backhand to beat Luongo
Simon tallied at the 9:49 mark of the third to knot the game at 3-3, the first
goal of his career. Kovalchuk wristed a shot from the slot wide-right of the
net, and the puck ricocheted off the back boards to the left side of the net.
Simon, cruising right to left in front, deposited the puck past a disoriented
Luongo for the equalizer.
