assisted on the game-winner and scored the other goal for Pittsburgh, which
snapped a four-game skid.
Sebastien Caron stopped 21-of-22 shots and did not face a shot in overtime in
Daniel Briere scored for Buffalo and Mika Noronen made 21 saves in the loss.
Berehowsky picked up a loose puck at the Pittsburgh blue line and sent Morozov
up ice on the left wing. Morozov skated into the Sabres' zone and fired a slap
shot from just inside the top of the circle that beat Noronen to the short
side at 3:09 of the extra session.
The Sabres opened the scoring at 9:19 of the second period on Briere's fourth
goal of the season. James Patrick won a battle along the boards deep in the
Buffalo zone and fired a perfect pass to Briere near center ice. Briere went
in alone on Caron and beat the netminder with a high shot while being pulled
down from behind to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead.
The Penguins had a five-minute power play in the opening period when Buffalo's
Andy Delmore was whistled off for boarding. With Alexei Zhitnik already in the
box for roughing, the power play started with Pittsburgh skating on a 5-on-3
advantage for 46 seconds. Buffalo kept the Penguins off the board and had an
opportunity to take the lead, but Caron made a spectacular glove save on a
short-handed breakaway by Chris Drury.
Berehowsky's blast from the point hit the stick of Buffalo defenseman Rory
Fitzpatrick and deflected over the shoulder of Noronen at 11:33 of the third
period to tie the game.
