Final Score: Phoenix 3, Vancouver 3

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Krystofer Kolanos scored the tying goal with 1:14 left in the third period, lifting the Phoenix Coyotes to a 3-3 draw with the Vancouver Canucks at GM Place. Shane Doan added a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, who are 0-3-2 after winning their first three games of the year.

Ladislav Nagy posted two assists and Radislav Suchy scored a goal for Phoenix, which was coming off a 4-4 tie at San Jose on Saturday night. Sean Burke made 28 saves on Sunday.

Markus Naslund had a goal and an assist for the Canucks, who are 2-0-2 in their last four and unbeaten in five home games (4-0-1) this season. Trevor Linden and Ed Jovanovski also scored for Vancouver, while Dan Cloutier made 18 saves.

The Coyotes dumped the puck into the Vancouver zone desperately trying for the tying goal in the final two minutes. Kolanos worked the puck behind the net and fired it toward the left corner for Branko Radivojevic, who banged it back off the boards. Kolanos swept in and beat Cloutier on a wraparound for his first goal of the season.

An end-to-end overtime featured only three shots on goal. Cloutier made two saves, including one on a blast by David Tanabe with 2 1/2 minutes left, while Burke's lone save came a minute later when he turned aside a backhander from in close by Mattias Ohlund.

The Canucks had taken a 3-2 lead at 8:51 of the third period on Naslund's third goal of the season. Todd Bertuzzi started the play by forcing a turnover at center ice and Brendan Morrison skated the puck into the Phoenix zone along the right wing. Naslund beat his man through the left circle, took Morrison's feed and cut toward the net before slipping a backhander past Burke's left skate.

Bertuzzi, after the game, was rewarded with a new four-year contract.

Linden scored his second goal of the season to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead with 2:22 left in the opening period. He picked up the puck from Magnus Arvedson and snapped a shot from the right circle through a screen and past Burke.

Jovanovski made it 2-0 at 5:07 of the second, working a give-and-go with Marek Malik for his second goal. Jovanovski got the puck from Naslund and skated into the Phoenix zone along the right wing. The big defenseman sent a pass to the left side for Malik, who returned the favor and Jovanovski snapped a shot home.

The Coyotes then rallied with a pair of goals during a 4-on-4 situation in a span of just 1:27.

Doan converted a Vancouver turnover into his fourth goal at the 8:42 mark. Brent Sopel's pass from the left boards was intercepted by Nagy in the Vancouver zone. Nagy spotted Doan behind the defense and Doan was able to slip a shot from in close past Cloutier.

Nagy and Doan then helped on Suchy's second goal at 10:09. Suchy worked the puck along the right boards and skated out from the corner into the slot before snapping a wrister past Cloutier on the stick side.
