Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Rob DiMaio scored with 2:24 left in the third
period to lift Dallas to a 3-2 win over Columbus at Nationwide Arena.
Jason Arnott and Philippe Boucher also scored for the Stars, who rallied in
the third period to snap a two-game losing streak. Bill Guerin contributed
three assists, while Arnott added one.
Rick Nash and Andrej Nedorost both scored for the Blue Jackets, who suffered
their fourth straight loss.
Marty Turco stopped 25 shots for Dallas, which trailed 1-0 after the second.
It later forged a 2-2 tie with 6:36 remaining in the third period. Boucher
beat Denis with a high shot from the right faceoff circle.
The Stars got the game-winner with 2;24 remaining. Guerin fed the puck to the
right circle, where DiMaio gathered it and beat Denis with a low shot.
Denis, who suffered his third straight loss, finished with 31 saves.
Nash posted an unassisted power-play goal 6:23 into the second period to put
Columbus ahead 1-0. The goal ended a scoreless drought of 110 minutes, 16
seconds for the Blue Jackets.
Arnott forged a 1-1 tie for Stars with 12:32 left in the third period. Guerin
fired a shot from the right circle. The puck deflected off a skate to Arnott,
who scored on a wrist shot from the right circle.
Nedorost responded 57 seconds later for the Blue Jackets. He carried the puck
into the offensive zone, through the right faceoff circle and beat Turco with
a low shot as he fell through the crease to put them ahead 2-1.
Andrew Cassels contributed an assist for the Blue Jackets, who have scored two
goals or less in six of their eight games...In eight career games against
Columbus, Guerin has seven goals and five assists...Dallas winger Brendan
Morrow left after the second period with a headache...Nash has scored five
of his team's 16 goals...The Blue Jackets went 1-for-8 on the power play,
while the Stars were 0-for-1.
