Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Patrice Bergeron and Mike Knuble scored just 44 seconds apart late in the third period, lifting the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center.

Bergeron finished with a goal and two assists for Boston, which rallied from a 3-0 deficit and won its second straight game after opening the season 0-1-2. The Bruins scored three times in the third and held the Kings without a shot on goal during the period.

Brian Rolston notched a goal and an assist for Boston, while Sandy McCarthy got the comeback started with his first goal of the season.

Luc Robitaille scored twice and Ziggy Palffy posted three assists for the Kings, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Lubomir Visnovsky added a goal and an assist in defeat.

Bergeron, stationed at the left side of the crease, poked in the rebound of a Rolston shot for his first NHL goal.

The Bruins continued the attack and took the lead with 1:48 remaining when Knuble swept home a rebound at the top of the crease after Roman Cechmanek stopped Glen Murray's initial shot from the right circle.

Robitaille got it started, scoring his first of the game on a shot from the slot at the 7:01 mark. He then backhanded home a shot from the top of the crease during a 5-on-3 advantage with 2:49 left in the opening period.

Visnovsky's goal on another two-man advantage with 37 seconds left in the first period gave the Kings a 3-0 lead. Los Angeles outshot Boston 15-4 during the opening stanza, but the game completely changed from there.

Boston began dominating both ends of the ice, outshooting Los Angeles 12-3 in the second period. McCarthy scored from the top of the slot at the 13:19 mark to put the Bruins on the board.

Bergeron set up McCarthy's goal and assisted on Rolston's tally at 4:51 of the third to pull Boston within two. Rolston fired a shot from the center point through a maze of players in front of Cechmanek to score his third goal of the season.
