Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Johnny Oduya scored 57 seconds into overtime,
leading the Jets to a 2-1 win over the Sabres on Saturday.
Blake Wheeler also had a goal for the Jets, who halted a two-game skid. Ondrej
Pavelec made 31 saves in the win.
Tyler Myers scored for the struggling Sabres, who fell to 2-6-2 in their last
10 games. Jhonas Enroth stopped 39 shots in the hard-luck loss.
"It was a tough game for us," said Enroth. "We really wanted to win this game
but we just need to battle back here and make a push to the playoffs."
Myers missed 19 games with a broken wrist before returning for Friday's loss
at Carolina. He gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead on Saturday with a power play tip-
in midway through the second period.
With five seconds left in the period, Wheeler tied the score with a power play
tally of his own. The Jets pressured Enroth, peppering him with several shots
before Wheeler buried a cross-ice feed from Tobias Enstrom.
But Enroth was sturdy in the third, turning away 11 shots, compared to eight
saves for Pavelec, as the game delved into overtime.
Oduya ensured a hasty finish, finding the back of the net with a high wrister
from the left circle to seal the Sabres' second straight loss.
Wheeler has six goals and five assists over his last 10 games...Both the
Sabres and the Jets went 1-for-4 with the man-advantage.
