Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Miikka Kiprusoff posted his third shutout of
the season with 22 saves, and the Calgary Flames blanked the red-hot Nashville
Predators, 5-0, at Sommet Center.
Kiprusoff improved to 15-5-3 on the season and recorded the 33rd shutout of
his career, as Calgary won for the fifth time in six games. Jarome Iginla,
Adam Pardy, Nigel Dawes, Curtis Glencross and David Moss accounted for the
team's four goals.
Ryan Suter had a team-high three shots for the Predators, who have lost two of
three following a seven-game win streak. Pekka Rinne was beaten four times on
29 shots in defeat.
After a scoreless first period, Moss put the Flames in front 1:32 into the
second. He stole an errant pass in his own zone and skated in alone on Rinne,
sliding the puck through the goaltender's legs for the contest's first tally.
"It was one of those fortunate plays where you're blocked and it (the puck)
happens to bounce in front of you and by the guy," said Moss. "It was just a
foot race after that."
Just over three minutes later, Dawes netted a power play goal to give the
Flames a two-goal lead heading into the third period.
With 11:51 left to play in the third, Pardy gave Calgary a commanding 3-0 lead
on a wrist shot from the slot. It became 4-0 when Glencross tallied an empty-
net shorthanded goal with just under four minutes to play.
Iginla's power play tally with 1:07 remaining capped the scoring, and
Kiprusoff needed to make only five stops in the final period to preserve the

The Predators had won eight of their last nine homes and fell to 9-5-0 overall
at Sommet Center this season...Calgary is 3-0-0 on a six-game road trip and
improved to a remarkable 10-1-3 on the road this season...The Flames swept
last season's series, 4-0.
