Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Fabian Brunnstrom scored the game-winner early
in the second period, as the Dallas Stars doubled up the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2,
at American Airlines Center.
Jere Lehtinen, Krystofer Barch and Raymond Sawada each had a goal for the
Stars, who began a six-game residency by winning for the seventh time in their
last 10 tries. Mike Ribeiro recorded two assists, while Marty Turco made 21
saves to earn his 28th win of the season.
Liam Reddox and Shawn Horcoff provided the offense for the Oilers, who have
lost two straight on the heels of a three-game win streak. Dwayne Roloson
allowed four goals on 25 shots in defeat.
The Stars built a two-goal lead and watched it evaporate.
Barch got things started at 10:41 of the first period, then Sawada, making his
NHL debut on his 24th birthday, fulfilled a childhood dream by scoring the
first goal of his career.
However, Reddox lit the lamp with exactly three minutes remaining in the
opening frame, 24 seconds after Sawada had turned on the red light.
Horcoff then tied the game 47 seconds into the second period, but Brunnstrom
restored the lead for Dallas on the power play at the 3:08 mark of the middle
Lehtinen helped cement the win in the third period. Ribeiro gloved a Steve Ott
cross-ice pass in the left circle and slipped the puck to the front of the net
for Lehtinen, who stuffed it home at 8:17.
Dallas has won 11 of the past 14 meetings with Edmonton...The Stars upped
their home record this season to an impressive 17-7-4...Edmonton is 16-14-1 on
