NHL Game Summary - Edmonton at Dallas

(Thursday, February 19th)

Final Score: Dallas 4, Edmonton 2

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Fabian Brunnstrom scored the game-winner early in the second period, as the Dallas Stars doubled up the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2, at American Airlines Center.

Jere Lehtinen, Krystofer Barch and Raymond Sawada each had a goal for the Stars, who began a six-game residency by winning for the seventh time in their last 10 tries. Mike Ribeiro recorded two assists, while Marty Turco made 21 saves to earn his 28th win of the season.

Liam Reddox and Shawn Horcoff provided the offense for the Oilers, who have lost two straight on the heels of a three-game win streak. Dwayne Roloson allowed four goals on 25 shots in defeat.

The Stars built a two-goal lead and watched it evaporate.

Barch got things started at 10:41 of the first period, then Sawada, making his NHL debut on his 24th birthday, fulfilled a childhood dream by scoring the first goal of his career.

However, Reddox lit the lamp with exactly three minutes remaining in the opening frame, 24 seconds after Sawada had turned on the red light.

Horcoff then tied the game 47 seconds into the second period, but Brunnstrom restored the lead for Dallas on the power play at the 3:08 mark of the middle stanza.

Lehtinen helped cement the win in the third period. Ribeiro gloved a Steve Ott cross-ice pass in the left circle and slipped the puck to the front of the net for Lehtinen, who stuffed it home at 8:17.
