Sabres sign Tarnasky, Brennan
Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Nick Tarnasky and defenseman TJ Brennan to one-year contracts.
Tarnasky spent last season in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League and recorded five goals with seven assists and 173 penalty minutes in 36 games for Vityaz Chekov.
The 27-year-old veteran has appeared in 245 NHL games over parts of five seasons with Tampa Bay, Nashville and Florida. He has 13 goals and 30 points with 297 penalty minutes.
Brennan, the team's second-round pick in the 2007 draft, appeared in 11 games for the Sabres last season and scored a goal against Boston in his NHL debut. He also scored 16 goals in 52 games for Buffalo's minor league affiliate in Rochester.
