Sabres activate Hecht
Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres activated center Jochen Hecht off of injured reserve on Friday.
Hecht missed the past 10 games after breaking his right middle finger in a 7-1 victory over the New York Islanders on October 13.
He played in two games this season prior to the injury and had one goal.
Hecht, 31, netted 22 goals and collected 27 assists in 75 games for the Sabres last season.
To make room on the roster, Buffalo waived center Matt Ellis in advance of sending him to Portland of the American Hockey League.
