NFL Game Summary - Baltimore at Seattle

(Sunday, November 13th)

Final Score: Seattle 22, Baltimore 17

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Marshawn Lynch ran for 109 yards and a score, and picked up three critical first downs in the final five minutes to lift the Seattle Seahawks to a 22-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The Seahawks ran the final 5:52 off the clock against the vaunted Baltimore defense to pull off the upset.

Lynch also added 58 yards receiving for the Seahawks (3-6), who snapped a three-game losing skid.

"What a nice day to celebrate veterans day. What a good day to play physical, tough and exciting football," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said.

Joe Flacco was 29-of-52 for 255 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Ravens (6-3), who got 27 yards rushing from Ray Rice on just five carries as Baltimore played from behind for the entire game.

Ed Dickson caught 10 balls for 79 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Down 22-10 with 9:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Ravens took over at their own 35-yard line following a punt.

Flacco scrambled for six yards on 4th-and-5, and later fired an 11-yard TD strike to Dickson to make it 22-17 with 5:52 left.

But the Ravens didn't see the ball again as Seattle moved the ball 72 yards in 12 plays to seal the win.

Tarvaris Jackson found Golden Tate for a huge 24-yard completion down the left sideline to move the chains on 3rd-and-5. Faced with another 3rd-and-5, Jackson dumped it off to Lynch, who picked up eight after making Jarred Johnson and Ray Lewis miss a few yards shy of the first-down marker.

Lynch picked up another tough eight yards on 2nd-and-8 to move the chains for a third time as the clock ticked down to the two-minute warning with the Seahawks at Baltimore's 28-yard line.

The Ravens were left with one timeout after Baltimore challenged the previous play, but Lynch was ruled down by contact after the replay.

Lynch ran for seven more yards on first down, and then put the game away with a five-yard carry off the right edge.

After Billy Cundiff missed a 50-yard field goal, the Seahawks took the ball and drove 60 yards in six plays before Lynch punched it in from a yard out.

David Reed fumbled the ensuing kickoff as Michael Robinson forced the strip and Ben Obamanu recovered the ball at the Baltimore 19-yard line. The turnover led to a Steven Hauschka 22-yard field goal to make it a 10-0 game with 5:26 remaining in the opening quarter.

Baltimore went on a long 13-play, 66-yard drive to pull within three early in the second quarter when Rice flipped a touchdown pass to Dickson for a one- yard score.

Seattle answered as Jackson scrambled left and threw across his body as he hit Doug Baldwin in stride for a 50-yard gain. The play led to a Hauschka 38-yard field goal as the Seahawks extended their lead to 13-7.

After a Baltimore three-and-out, Carroll boldly went for it on 4th-and-1 as Jackson sneaked for a first down. Seattle would go on to take a 16-7 advantage as Hauschka booted it through from 39 yards away.

Reed fumbled for a second time on the ensuing kickoff as Atari Bigby pounced on the loose ball at the 18-yard line. The miscue led to Hauschka's fourth field goal of the half, this one from 35 yards.

"This is the NFL, when you run up in there you have to protect the football, he (David Reed) knows that and he will," Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh said. "David Reed's a tough guy and a competitive guy."

Baltimore moved the ball 29 yards in 46 seconds to set up Cundiff for a 52- yard field goal attempt, but his kick sailed wide right as Seattle took a 19-7 lead into the break.

David Hawthorne intercepted Flacco's pass intended for Boldin on Baltimore's opening possession of the second half and returned the pick 34 yards down to the Ravens' eight-yard line. But once again the Seahawks had to settle for three as Hauschka connected from 30 yards away to make it 22-7 early in the third quarter.

The Ravens moved 65 yards in 12 plays on a late third quarter drive, but the march stalled inside the red zone and Cundiff split the uprights from 35 yards away to make it a 22-10 game.

Game Notes

Flacco had a career-high 52 pass attempts...Lynch has rushed for 100 yards in back-to-back games for the first time in his career...Twelve run plays tied for fewest in Baltimore history.
