Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Texans safety Danieal Manning underwent surgery for a fractured left tibia Monday and will miss at least four weeks, coach Gary Kubiak announced.
Manning suffered the injury while making a leaping interception in the second quarter of Sunday's 41-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Kubiak said during Monday's press conference that Manning is beginning rehab and may return this season.
The 29-year-old safety signed a four-year contract with the Texans this offseason after spending the previous five years with the Bears. He has recorded 375 career tackles and nine interceptions in his career.
Kubiak noted that Troy Nolan will start at safety in place of Manning.
