Dallas Mavericks (34-15) at New Jersey Nets (21-29), 6 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks open a short two-game road trip when they visit the disappointing New Jersey Nets today at the Izod Center.
This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. Dallas is scheduled to host the Nets on March 8th at American Airlines Center.
Dallas was 2-0 against the Nets last season, and has won 13 of the last 14 meetings in the series. The Mavericks have won six of their last seven at New Jersey.
The Mavericks have won three in a row. Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points in 26 minutes on 7-of-10 shooting to lead the Mavericks past the Memphis Grizzlies, 92-81, on Friday at American Airlines Center.
Devean George added 13 points for the Mavericks, who beat the Grizzlies for the tenth straight time in regular season play. Brandon Bass chipped in 12 points and Jason Terry netted 11 for Dallas in the victory.
Dallas will visit Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday at the Wachovia Center, The Mavericks are 12-12 on the road this season.
New Jersey opens a two-game homestand. On Friday, Jason Kidd notched his 12th triple-double of the season,with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists as the Nets took down the Charlotte Bobcats, 104-90.
The triple-double was the 99th of Kidd's career and his 61st in a New Jersey uniform. Richard Jefferson added a game-high 23 points for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Vince Carter added 18 points and nine boards, while Josh Boone contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.
The Nets are 10-15 at home this season. They will host Al Jefferson and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday at the Izod Center.
