Los Angeles Lakers (53-24) at Portland Trail Blazers (38-39), 10 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The playoff-bound Los Angeles Lakers try to extend their winning streak to five games when they visit the slumping Portland Trail Blazers tonight at the Rose Garden.
The Lakers are two games ahead of the second-place Phoenix Suns in the Pacific Division standings. They are 1 1/2 games behind New Orleans for the top spot in the Western Conference.
LA plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip on Tuesday. Superstar Kobe Bryant scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half and the Lakers pulled away to defeat the Sacramento Kings, 114-92, on Sunday at ARCO Arena. Bryant also grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists in the victory.
Pau Gasol finished with 20 points and nine rebounds in the win for the Lakers, while Lamar Odom netted 16 points and Sasha Vujacic scored 14 in the victory.
The Lakers, who have won four straight on the road, are 26-13 as the visitor this season. They will act as the visitor on Thursday against the Clippers.
Portland has dropped five in a row, and will conclude a three-game homestand this evening. The Trail Blazers are 25-13 at the Rose Garden this season, and will visit Sacramento on Friday at ARCO Arena.
On Sunday, Tim Duncan scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Trail Blazers, 72-65. Brandon Roy scored 18 points for Portland, while Travis Outlaw netted 14 and LaMarcus Aldridge collected 12 points and 11 rebounds for Portland, which scored a season-low 65 points and tied a season-low for field goal percentage at 34.2 percent.
The Lakers are 2-1 against the Trail Blazers this season, and have won three of the last four contests in the series.
LA has dropped five in a row at Portland.
