NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, February 8th (All times eastern)

Los Angeles Lakers (31-17) at Orlando Magic (32-19), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers will continue a lengthy nine-game road trip against the Orlando Magic tonight at Amway Arena.

Los Angeles is 3-2 so far on the trek, but had a three-game winning streak stopped with Wednesday's 98-95 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. Lamar Odom had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Derek Fisher added 17 points for the Lakers, who are 14-10 away from the City of Angels this season.

Kobe Bryant had 10 assists and was limited to just 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting for LA. Newly acquired center Pau Gasol also struggled for the Lakers, shooting 5-of-14 for 12 points in defeat.

The Lakers will also visit Miami, Charlotte and Minnesota on the swing.

Meanwhile, Southeast Division-leading Orlando has won eight of its last 10 games and will continue a five-game homestand on Friday versus the Lakers.

The Magic are 1-1 so far on the stand and recorded a 100-84 victory over New Jersey on Wednesday, as Dwight Howard scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the charge. Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu both had 19 points and Jameer Nelson added 11 points and eight assists off the bench for Orlando.

Orlando will also host Cleveland and Denver at Amway Arena. On the injury front for the Magic, Turkoglu (ankle) and guard Keyon Dooling (elbow) are both probable for Friday's game.

Los Angeles and Orlando will wrap up their regular-season series this evening. The Magic won the first meeting, 104-97, on December 2 at the Staples Center.

The Lakers have won five of six and eight of the last 10 meetings. They have also won two straight and three of their last four at Orlando.
