NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, December 29th (All times eastern)

Toronto Raptors (16-14) at Houston Rockets (14-15), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors will resume their lengthy seven-game road trip tonight against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.

The Raptors are just 2-3 on the trip, but ended a three-game losing streak with Friday's 83-73 win over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center.

Jason Kapono had 15 points and grabbed three rebounds, while Jose Calderon and Kris Humphries each had 14 points for the Raptors, who became the first Eastern Conference team to defeat the Spurs this season. Humphries also added 11 rebounds and Calderon grabbed seven boards and dished out five assists.

Andrea Bargnani netted 11 points and Chris Bosh chipped in 10 and nine rebounds, as the Raptors improved to 8-8 away from Canada this season. Toronto will close out the trek on Monday at New Orleans.

Meanwhile, the Rockets just went 2-2 on a four-game road trip and will open a brief two-game homestand on Saturday versus Toronto and Golden State.

In Friday's 103-83 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum, Yao Ming scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the way. Luis Scola contributed 22 points off the bench for the Rockets, who played without All- Star guard Tracy McGrady. McGrady sat with a sore left knee and is expected to miss at least one more game with the injury.

The Raptors handed the Rockets a 93-80 loss on December 9 this season at the Air Canada Centre. They have won four of the last five meetings with Houston.

Toronto has also won two in a row at the Toyota Center.
