NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, December 28th (All times eastern)

Milwaukee Bucks (11-16) at Chicago Bulls (9-17), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Jim Boylan will get his shot at head coach for the Chicago Bulls, who will host the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the United Center.

Boylan was appointed interim head coach for the remainder of the 2007-08 season Thursday and takes over for Scott Skiles, who was fired on Christmas Eve. Boylan is in his fourth season with the Bulls organization after he joined the team as an assistant coach in 2004.

Chicago has lost three straight and six of its last nine games, including Wednesday's 94-79 setback to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center. Joe Smith led the Bulls with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Ben Gordon scored 18 points in a losing cause.

The Bulls are 5-7 at home this season.

Meanwhile, the Bucks will wrap up a short two-game road trip on Friday and have lost three of four and 12 of the last 16 games. In Wednesday's 125-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center, Mo Williams had 28 points and seven assists for Milwaukee.

Charlie Villanueva added 17 points off the bench in a losing cause. The Bucks have dropped seven in a row on the road and are just 2-13 as the visitor this season.

Milwaukee posted a 78-72 victory over Chicago on November 3 this season at the Bradley Center. The Bulls, though, have won four of five and six of the last eight meetings.

The Bucks have lost three straight and 10 of their last 12 trips to the Windy City.
